Yowie Bay House The site is located on the high side of the street which enjoys views of the city and the Port Hacking River to the north-east and the Georges River to the south-west. The location of both living areas and bedrooms maximises access to these views. The use of screening prevents over-heating of the house whilst still maintaining the views. The rear yard has been broken up in to two spaces. The first a smaller courtyard with a northerly aspect is more enclosed and intimate for quieter gatherings while the larger rear space is designed for larger family gatherings and a place for the kids to play. The articulation of the building façade along with the composure of the massing, the use of blade elements and the varying palette of materials ensure that the building sits well within the context of the site and the streetscape.
